Hello!

My name is Keri LaBrant

In brief, I'm a Jesus-follower living in Seattle with a Master of Divinity degree, 15+ years of ministry experience, and a wide range of church experiences. I count as some of my most significant influences the personal devotion habits of the evangelical church, the communal disciplines of the liturgical traditions, the social justice involvement of the wider mainline denominations, the committed community life of the nondenominational world, the worship-driven, empowered heart of the charismatic movement, and the profound integration of many of these found within Black Church tradition.

Bio

Keri LaBrant is an M.Div. graduate of Duke University's Divinity School and was formerly a licensed local pastor in the United Methodist Church. She has served in various roles in the church, mostly in her hometown of St. Pete, Florida and now resides in Seattle where she has shifted her ministry into the realm of faith-based social work and parachurch ministry. She considers her ecumenical church background a blessing, and in addition to her formal education and congregational experiences, she has been significantly influenced in praxis and worldview by the Christian Community Development Association, the Underground Network, and Shores of Grace (Brasil). Keri currently works with Light of Love, an emerging ministry sharing the simple love of Jesus with people in the commercial sex industry. She attends a house church, enjoys vibrant community and cool weather, and is working on escaping to the mountains more regularly.
